I rarely get nervous before an interview – that is unless I happen to be a big fan of that person. This was the case when I got ready to interview rising country star, Kacey Musgraves. From my very first listen to Merry Go Round I knew Kacey was something special. I anxiously awaited her debut album and was more than pleased with the smart lyrics and coffee house feel. To top it off, Kacey is a genuinely sweet person ready for hugs and smiles. I’m an even bigger fan now!

My favorite part of any award show is the red carpet! The 2013 Billboard Music Awards in Los Vegas didn’t house too many country stars, but those who did come out rocked the red carpet. I really really like the simplicity of Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves’ dresses. And Jennifer Nettles looks amazing just months after giving birth! Who was your favorite glammed up country star?

There are so many things I like about Miranda Lambert: her edgy music, her adorable marriage to Blake Shelton, her love for dogs, and her style. Miranda is a real sized women who knows how to dress her body. She’s definitely one of my style icons and overall body heros. In this look, worn while performing in Nashville for the Country Radio Seminar, she combines two of my favorite trends – leather and metal. I love how she wears harsh, rocker pieces and makes them feminine. This picture inspired me to purchase my own wide metal belt (I now own three – thanks Miranda) and it has become a staple in my wardrobe!

Faith Hill has been a fixture of Sunday Night Football for 6 years and her departure left a bitter taste in my mouth. However, the sweet news came this week that Carrie Underwood would fill her shoes and takeover the roll as the Sunday Night Football theme song singer! I thought this was a great decision, but my opinion could be shadowed by my endless love for all things Carrie. So I headed over to get the opinions of sports anchors Billy and Stiller from ESPN’s BS Sports Show!

One listen to Bubbly years ago and I was instantly hooked on Colbie Caillat. I’m not sure why I never imagined her making the jump to country music, especially considering her recent collaborations with Brad Paisley and Jerrod Niemann – but honestly the thought never crossed my mind. Now, however, I can’t get the idea out of my brain – not after listening to her latest song with country hit maker Trace Adkins. I’ve always been in favor of artists from different genres coming together and Watch The World End is something special. I predict a hit on our hands!

The Kentucky Derby may be a horse race, but everyone knows the real spectacle is the fashion! Miranda Lambert and Luke Bryan (and wife Caroline) made their way to Louisville over the weekend for the pre-race Barnstable-Brown gala benefitting the Blessings in a Backpack program. Martina McBride was on hand singing the national anthem moments before the big race.
Miranda wins this one for me! She is stunning in her peach dress and adorable little hat! Speaking of hats – Where’s Caroline’s?
